mmm…CAKE!!

Cake Pop Friday

Happy Friday and with that comes my chocolate truffle fudge cake pops that my darling husband took to the bank today.  We decided best to bring them on Wednesdays from now on to help them get over the mid week blues. Next request is the red velvet pops.

Tonight we are watching our 3 yr old nephew Alex and his sister Isabella aka Peanut who is 5. They helped me make the butter-cream for the fire truck cake I am making for a lucky 3 year old’s birthday Sunday.

They were quite excited to turn the mixer up to the highest setting, giggling and praying frosting would fly out and land on their faces! NO such luck kiddies but they did get the joy of licking the bowl. The half sheet cake in marble was made this morning, hubby helped me sculpt out the fire truck, I just dirty iced it and put it in the freezer to chill a bit. Now off to make the fondant, get it covered tonight and finish it up tomorrow.

What is your favorite fondant to work with? Ever tried making your own?
